Over time, fans have grown to adore these little minigames.
For some reason, racing has become pretty common in video games. Many games try to add fun driving techniques and other similar features to make the experience more interesting and complete. There are, of course, no games that can compare to racing games that either try to make arcade racing fun, feat ure incredibly accurate driving mechanics, or do a fantastic job of combining the two.
It’s possible for players to just enjoy racing in their games occasionally, though, instead of making it their main way to play. This message has been sent to a lot of games, which have added a lot of driving minigames that are fun to play on their own.
Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic
The love and emotion that went into making Knights of the Old Republic, which is one of the best Star Wars games of all time, is clear to everyone. Many people think this is the best story ever told using the Star Wars IP, which is pretty high praise given how good the big stories are in this series.
A lot of attention to detail has been paid to staying true to the original, and swoop racing is a big part of the game. There is only one time when it’s required for the story. After that, players can do more heart-pounding swoop racing events to make money and easily complete sidequests.
Chrono Trigger
Nobody needs to be told about the famous JRPG Chrono Trigger. The three people from Hironobu Sakaguchi, Akira Toriyama, and Yuji Horii worked together like a dream to make this amazing game. It is still the gold standard for how JRPGs should be structured, and many newer games in the genre can’t even come close.
The game also has a pretty fun racing minigame that takes place in the future. Players must race a man named Johnny on a Jetbike, using placement and boosts to get ahead and win the race the first time, which is required for the story. After that, players can play the driving game more than once to get better scores and win more prizes.
Super Mario Odyssey
Super Mario Odyssey is one of the most creative platform games ever made. Using a cap to take over enemies and using their special skills to get past certain obstacles was a lot of fun, and the way the levels were designed was especially inspiring.
The game also offers two fun racing challenges. Each level’s Koopa Freerunning tasks come in two different levels: easy and hard. The Bound Bowl Grand Prix is an important part of the story and does a great job of combining racing and bouncing.
Psychonauts
Fans should check out Psychonauts, which is one of the most creative platformers out there. Both this game and its follow-up are fun to play on their own. Razputin is a fun main character who has a lot of cool abilities that he can use to speed through platforming tasks and look into people’s minds.
In Milla Vodello’s mind, the first game feat ures a fun race that players must win in order to use the Levitation ability. A lot of people are having a good time in one of the best levels of the game. However, if players look around, they can find one of the game’s deadliest secrets.
Super Mario Party
It goes without saying that a party game known for having fun minigames would have racing in some way. In fact, almost all Mario Party games have this mode in some way. This is also true for Super Mario Party, which feat three racing minigames each with their own rules.
In Trike Harder, players control their tricycles with the movement of a Joy-Con. In Barrelling Along, players roll a barrel down a dangerous course to be the first to the finish line. Lastly, Rowboat Uprising has players work together to row their way to the end of an aquatic path, dodging obstacles as they go.
Yakuza: Like A Dragon
People love the Yakuza games because they have fun and interesting minigames that can take hours of their time without notice. With each new installment, the quality of these minigames has gotten better, and Like a Dragon is no different. Players can’t be blamed for skipping the main story if they want to focus on the side material. Dragon Kart is one of Ichiban’s favorite things to do in the game.
It’s clear that this minigame was influenced by Drift Boss. It’s a lot of fun to play, mostly because it’s crazy, which is exactly how the Yakuza games are. If a player wins enough races, they can get a lot of useful items that can make the game a lot easier.
Bully
Anyone who has played a Rockstar game knows that the racing features are always very well done, and Bully is no different. Their main games are so focused on driving that it wouldn’t be fair to call their races “minigames.” But that doesn’t really apply to Bully.
There are both bike and cart races in the game, which are fun to play and have a lot of detail. People can do any of the many other things that happen in the game world if they get tired of playing through the main story over and over again.
